Morrisson-Reeves Library (MRL) is excited to partner with Richmond Shakespeare Festival in a creative celebration of Shakespeare! Open to artists and makers aged 13 and up, Makespeare invites Richmond-area residents to create a project inspired by Shakespeare's work. See submission guidelines listed below. #makespeare2017

Makespeare is open to Richmond-area residents ages 13 and up.
Limit one entry per person.
All 2D and 3D media are accepted. Digital media are accepted.
Artists and makers will be selected from two age brackets (13-18 and 19 and over) for the following awards:
The Bottom: Best Mixed-Media (2- or 3D, includes collage)
The Demetrius and Chiron: Best Use of Recycled Materials
The Desdemona: Best Textile
The Olivia: Best Jewelry
The Prospero: Best Digital Media (digital art, photography, or video)
The Bard: Best Execution of Shakespearean Theme (any media)
Keep entries PG-13, please.
Maximum entry size: artwork may not exceed 36”x 24”, including matting.
Works on paper should be matted or mounted to protect the artwork.
Works on stretched canvas frames or canvas board do not need to be matted.
2D entries must be wired or otherwise ready to hang.
Pastels and charcoal must be protected with a fixative spray.
Sculptures and other 3D entries should be easily transportable.
Deliver physical entries to the Youth Services desk at Morrisson-Reeves Library..
Digital entries may be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
