Library volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and their contribution to the Library and the community is immeasurable.

Please join us! As a Morrisson-Reeves Library Volunteer you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are providing a much-needed, much-valued service to the Library and the community. Through your participation, your life and the lives of those around you will be enriched.

What is a Volunteer?

A volunteer is a person who provides his or her time or service to Morrisson-Reeves Library without any present or future expectation of wages, benefits, compensation or payment of any kind.
Volunteers do not replace paid staff, but enhance and extend services provided by the Library, and are not considered as employees of the Library.
Volunteers are under no obligation to provide time, duties or resources other than what he or she chooses to freely provide.

When you volunteer at the library you:

  • Provide valuable assistance
  • Learn more about your library
  • Gain meaningful experience
  • Meet new people
  • Make a difference in your community

Volunteer Basic Requirements

  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must take direction and work independently.
  • Must communicate effectively and work well with others.
  • Must give attention to detail.
  • Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions, bending, reaching, stooping, sitting, and standing for long periods when necessary.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older. Age requirements may vary for particular assignments based on age-appropriateness or skills required for the position.
  • Must have successfully completed the volunteer application process including, but not limited to, completion of a volunteer application, successful criminal history checks, etc.
