Tech Made Easy: MRL Launches Free Workshops & Help Sessions for All Ages

Unlock the full potential of your devices and online resources with Morrisson-Reeves Library’s enhanced technology support! We’re rolling out new workshops and tech help sessions to equip you with the essential digital skills you need for everyday life, career advancement, and staying connected.

Richmond Senior Recreation Center Sessions

MRL is partnering with the Richmond Senior Recreation Center to provide personalized tech support.

  • When: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • When: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Richmond Senior Recreation Center, 1600 S 2nd St, Richmond, IN 47374

Our experienced staff will be on hand to answer you questions and provide one-on-one assistance. To register, please call the Richmond Senior Recreation Center at (765) 983-7300. These sessions are open to everyone, regardless of membership status.

Tech Help Thursdays at MRL: Your Tech Questions Answered

Need help with your devices or library resources? Join us for Tech Help Thursdays at the library.

  • When: 1st and 3rd Thursdays: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • When: 2nd and 4th Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: Morrisson-Reeves Library

Bring your device or laptop and get personalized help with:

  • Device basics (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Printing from any fdevice
  • Sharing photos
  • Downloading free ebooks with Libby
  • Email settings and attachments
  • Navigating library resources (Libby, Transparent Language, and more!)
  • General “What the tech?” troubleshooting


Workshop Wednesdays: Enhance Your Digital Skills

Every Wednesday, MRL will host themed workshops in the Information Services Department.

  • When: Every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: Morrisson-Reeves Library

These sessions will feature self-paced video tutorials and hands-on assistance from our experienced instructor, James, who has been teaching technology classes at MRL for a decade. Workshop topics include:

  • Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Career Readiness (resume building, creating and uploading accounts)
  • And other relevant topics

“We are thrilled to expand our technology assistance and workshop offerings to better serve our community,” says Melissa Hunt, Information Services Manager. “By providing accessible tech help and relevant workshops, we aim to bridge the digital divide and empower individuals with the skills they need to succeed in today’s world.”

James adds, “I’m excited to continue helping community members enhance their technology skills. The new Workshop Wednesday format, combined with the consistent tech help sessions, will provide valuable resources for everyone.”
