What Information Services is:

  • Located in the Clarence Brown Research Center in the lower level of the library
  • A source for history, genealogy, and reference information and materials
  • A quiet area for study and leisure reading
  • A place for magazines and newspapers
  • A place for private meetings and private study
  • Trained staff who assist customers on a wide variety of topics

What Information Services staff do:

  • Offer research assistance with genealogy and local history which includes finding obituaries and looking for articles requested in past editions of the local newspaper
  • Offer guidance on starting research on a variety of topics
  • Offer connections to local resources in the community
  • Offer assistance in finding books, movies, and music
  • Offer individual lessons on using library and online resources
  • Offer technology assistance with computer classes and answer basic technology questions.
  • Offer access to local and world news
  • Offer access to government and business information and legal resources

The Book a Librarian service allows you to reserve a 30 minute session with Information Services staff.

Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Sessions are 30 minutes.

We do not provide data entry, fill out online applications, shop, or book trips online. We do not set up software for personal devices.
