Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy

Smoking and use of any tobacco products is prohibited on Morrisson-Reeves Library (MRL) property. MRL property is defined as the entire physical city block that the building is situated on including the sidewalks surrounding the facility and parking lots on the north and south sides of the facility.

All buildings, doorways, and fully or partially enclosed walkways connecting buildings will be smoke and tobacco free. Smoking is not permitted in Library owned, leased, or operated licensed vehicles.

Advertising, sale, or promotion of tobacco products and the sponsoring of Library events by tobacco companies or tobacco-promoting organizations for the purpose of promoting tobacco related products is not permitted.

Enforcement of this policy will depend upon all members of the MRL staff to comply with and encourage others to comply with this policy in order to ensure a healthy environment to work and live. Library customers who do not comply with this policy after being informed of the policy may be have his/her privilege to use the Library revoked. Staff who do not comply with this policy after being informed of the policy will be dismissed from employment.
